El Amarillo

(Argentina, 2006, 85 minutes)

A man arrives at a distant Argentinian town, and decides to stay on after listening to the night-club singer that performs nightly in its dive bar. Oblique but intriguing moodpiece; not much happens, but the use of mood and song is interesting.

A Masa Latina production. Starring Gabriela Moyano, Alejandro Barratelli. Directed and written by Sergio Mazza; produced by Lorna Lawrie and Sergio Mazza; music and lyrics by Gabriela Moyano; director of photography (colour; HD digital video transferred to 35mm), Luis Camara; art director, Sergio Mazza; film editors, Nicolas Moro, Mercedes Oliveira and Sergio Mazza.

Comments

It's one of the best films I've seen lately. And the music sung by Gabriela Moyano is superb. Her voice is the voice of the film and the hero's heart.
