Love in the Time of Cholera
(USA/Great Britain, 2007, 138 minutes)
In turn of the century Colombia, a romantic clerk pines for over 50 years for the teenage sweetheart that broke his heart. Misjudged and miscast adaptation of a celebrated novel that completely misses the tone required to make it work on the screen, reducing romantic tragedy to a far-fetched if luxuriously presented soap opera.
