Shakespeare Behind Bars

(USA/Great Britain, 2005, 92 minutes)

One year in the life of the theatre programme “Shakespeare Behind Bars” at the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex in Kentucky, during which a cast of inmates rehearses and performs The Tempest. Excellent, life-affirming documentary that deals with forgiveness and redemption but never whitewashes its subjects' flaws.
