The Edge of Heaven

A Turkish retiree in Germany becomes smitten with a prostitute; meanwhile, her daughter, a revolutionary activist, flees from Istanbul and finds love in the idealist student who lodges her.  Affecting ensemble melodrama that twists its time-worn mosaic formula to deliver a few narrative surprises and a powerful meditation on human relationships.
