Milou en mai

(UK title: Milou in May; US title: May Fools)

(France/Italy, 1989, 106 minutes)

After the mother's unexpected death, an extended family comes together in their country estate during May 1968 for the funeral and begin bickering almost at once over who gets to keep what. Zany comedy that veers occasionally to over-the-top farce and scathing political satire but remains at its best in the melancholy, bitter-sweet tone of the family scenes.
