This Is England

In July 1983, a bullied schoolboy whose military father just died in the Falklands War falls in with an easy-going gang of local skinheads. Smart, no-nonsense melodrama, at once period piece, gritty problem picture in the British tradition and sensitive coming-of-age tale.
