Up

(USA, 2009, 98 minutes)

About to be evicted, a grouchy widower attaches a truckload of balloons to his house and flies it towards the mythical Latin American waterfalls that he never got to visit with his wife. Marvelous animated fantasy taking after thirties Hollywood fare, with a strong debt to period serials and cartoons, though sometimes the story creaks under the weight of disparate influences not entirely assimilated.
