Petition

(France/China, 2009, 124 minutes)

Petitioners come from all over China to attempt to have their local grievances taken care of by the central government, but find themselves lost in the system. Painstakingly shot in secret over twelve years, this harrowing, gruelling documentary is a stunning but often hard to watch testimony to the growing pains of modern China.
