GET HIM TO THE GREEK
USA/Japan
2010
108 minutes
An overeager record company employee is assigned to pick up an over-the-hill British rock star from London and bring him to Los Angeles for a live concert, but things start going wrong from the beginning. Raucous, careening farce that at once pays tribute to and sends up rock mores with manic glee but not much in the way of visual flair; most of it will probably fly over the heads of less music-oriented viewers as juvenile, if conveniently energetic, toilet humor.
Universal Pictures presents, in association with Relativity Media and Spyglass Entertainment, an Apatow Productions production; in association with Dentsu.
Starring Jonah Hill, Russell Brand, Elizabeth Moss, Rose Byrne, Colm Meaney; and Sean Combs.
Directed by Nicholas Stoller; produced by Judd Apatow, Mr. Stoller, David Bushell, Rodney Rothman; written by Mr. Stoller, based on characters created by Jason Segel; music by Lyle Workman; director of photography (colour), Robert Yeoman; production designer, Jan Roelfs; costume designer, Leesa Evans; film editors, William Kerr, Mike Sale.
Screened: distributor advance press screening, Zon Lusomundo screening room (Lisbon), July 23rd 2010.
