THE LOVELY BONES

USA/United Kingdom/New Zealand
2009
134 minutes

A teenage girl is murdered by a psychotic neighbour and watches from above on the way her family deals with the loss. Technically impeccable but dramatically uneven combination of creepy murder mystery and throwback to 1940s celestial melodramas from a celebrated best-seller whose main fault lies in its uncertainty of tone.
